Kamala Harris and Migration Policies

Kamala Harris is the first major party US presidential nominee whose parents were both immigrants to the United States. At the August 2024 Democratic Party nominating convention speakers generally supported immigration policy reforms consistent with legislative packages considered in 2006 and 2013, and since then, but so far never approved by both houses of the US Congress. Immigration issues appear likely to attract growing and recurring attention during the second administration of Donald Trump.
